As 40^th birthday presents go, 90 solar panels is a pretty awesome one. That’s exactly what our co-founder, Daisy, was gifted by her husband and co-founder, Adam. They were installed on the roof of our McKenzie Corner store in February 2020, and they’ve been a core part of our commitment to caring for Mother Nature ever since!

Our solar panels make a huge contribution to our energy requirements and significantly reduce our carbon footprint. If you’re a data-lover, here are some fun stats for you…

So far this month (April 2025), our solar panels have produced 1.84 Megawatt-hours (MWh) of solar power.

This year, they have produced 6.92 MWh.

Throughout their lifetime, they have produced 186 MWh.

This all means we’ve saved 72,981.4kg of CO2 emissions, the equivalent of planting an incredible 2,178 trees!

Our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint stretches right down to our work vehicles, which are powered by our house-made Green Sauce. Just kidding, but stranger things have happened – after all, there’s nothing Green Sauce can’t do!

Next time you’re stopping by our McKenzie Corner store, look up at Wally (our beloved vintage Ford on the roof of the store) and you should spot the panels just behind him. They’re in good company, because our 12,000 strong colony of bees live here too! You can read more about them here.
