Back in 2008, The Root Cellar sprouted from a deep passion for fresh, local food and sustainable food systems. Turns out, our community feels the same way, and that shared love has allowed us to grow rapidly ever since!

In Fall 2021, our Oxford Corner opening marked a leap forward. Now, across both markets, we offer Vancouver Island’s widest selection of locally grown, organic, & conventional produce, along with full-service butcher & deli, artisanal groceries, dairy, breads, and bulk foods – all under one roof!
