Hi Root Cellar Community

There is something so comforting about the trifecta of getting your hands dirty, fresh air & growing your own food at the best of times. Right now the restorative qualities of gardening are amplified and we are so grateful to be in a corner of the world where many have backyards (or decks) and the weather is fair during these crazy times of isolation.

When our environment is unstable we gravitate toward things that anchor us; for me and for many, that place is the garden; be it the veggie patch or the window boxes. For many more it’s the garden and you just don’t know it yet.

Compounded by the comfort of growing your own food, gardening is delivering something that many of us need right now. Let’s make the most of these sunny days, teach our kids a few things in the backyard, and heal ourselves from the state of shock we’re all in, with our hands in the soil. The crazy world will be waiting for both us and our dirty hands, but I imagine we’ll see things a bit differently.

Here’s to digging deep in any manner that uplifts us.

If it’s the garden that brings you peace, we have our first tomato & pepper starts of the season, a new shipment of soil & compost, seeds being replenished regularly, and an ever increasing selection of veggie starts & herbs to help you along (and tons of pretty things too).

With warmth & gratitude,
Adam & Daisy Orser
